I'm trying to add footnotes to a MigraDoc document but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right since I was unable to find an example.
I'm using something like
Code: | Paragraph paragraph = document.LastSection.AddParagraph();
FootNote fn = paragraph.AddFootnote();
fn.AddParagraph("My footnote text"); |
also tried
Code: | paragraph.AddFootnote("My footnote text"); |
but my Footnote never appears.
Am I missing something? _________________ If hope could grow from dirt like me, it can be done. |

I saw the example for Footers, but I'm looking for FootNotes.
From what I understand, FootNotes should be able to take care of AutoNumbering whereas Footers don't. ?? _________________ If hope could grow from dirt like me, it can be done. |

Hello!

Have you tried creating an RTF file?
Maybe footnotes are not implemented in the PDF renderer of MigraDoc Lite.
You can try the following: save the document as an MGDDL file and convert it using the MigraDoc Client as described here:
http://pdfsharp.s3.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?p=1196#1196
Headers and Footers are fixed text that appears on every page.
Footnotes are annotations that appear once in the document - linked to a place in the text. _________________ Regards

I'm not creating a file at all. I'm using a DocumentPreview control to show changes that a user makes as they are editing the document.
I run through the routine of adding the sections and paragraphs and footnotes, and then I
Code: | docPreview.Ddl = DdlWriter.WriteToString(document); |
everything displays except the footnotes. _________________ If hope could grow from dirt like me, it can be done. |

There is one renderer for XGraphics (used for PDF and Preview) - that's the one where footnotes are not implemented (I put this on our internal bug list but can't say when it'll be implemented).
And there's a renderer for RTF where footnotes seem to be implemented.
As a workaround I'd use AddParagraph instead of AddFootnote (using a style with a different font style/size and/or a different indentation). _________________ Regards
